  • I've been training in martial arts for 5 years now - Muay Thai, BJJ, and under Joe, wrestling. I can confidently say that Joe is one of the best coaches I've worked with - he makes everyone feel welcome, he is great at breaking down the minutia of techniques, and most importantly with a grappling coach - you feel safe. I would wholeheartedly recommend the wrestling classes, for whatever purpose - BJJ, MMA, or even just for fun. Coaches like Joe are hard to find.

  • Since I started training with Joe I have noticed an immense benefit to my physical and mental health. Training with Joe allowed me to regain my confidence and establish an incredible foundation for my wrestling and jiu jitsu game, all the while helping me recover from a neck injury and stay pain free when grappling. I am extremely thankful for all that Joe has helped me with and consider his teaching method and coaching to be one of the best I have ever come across. The training with Joe truly is amazing and extremely high quality. Definitely 100% recommended to everyone interested in learning grappling sports.

  • Working privately with Joe has been great! His teaching ability is fantastic and he has the ability to cover things in great detail technically, yet explain, demonstrate and deliver in a non complicated and understandable manner. Joe is able to assess your existing abilities and skillset, addressing any weaknesses and working to enhance any existing strengths you may possess. Sessions with Joe are well worth the investment and in a relatively short time he has been able to elevate my wrestling skillset greatly. Would definitely recommend!

  • Joe is an experienced coach for JiuJitsu. I had a couple of privates with Joe to improve my BJJ and get me ready for my blue belt, he was always clear on his instructions during the session, and responded to questions even outside of our sessions. I would definitely recommend Joe for privates, whether that's gi, no-gi or wrestling, he knows his stuff!

  • Cannot recommend Joe enough. Doing privates with Joe did not only give me confidence in my stand up for BJJ comp but also gave me the tools to succeed with the takedowns. Excellent attention to details while also adjusting the sessions to your abilities (me 42 year old).

  • Joe is extremely concise in his coaching and his sessions are well thought out. I have found this has helped me to understand the purpose of each technique which is overall an ideal way to learn so you do not make the same mistakes. Joe is professional and patient and I cannot recommend him more highly. Since reaching out to him I have gained so much confidence in my stand up game and I really enjoy wrestling now. • Joe is a very technical coach in both wrestling and Jiu Jitsu. He is fantastic at teaching key details which enable the practical use of techniques under pressure in sparring. He has a deep understanding of wrestling, and is a black belt in Jiu Jitsu under Ross Nicholls, meaning he can blend transitions from standup to ground and back again for his students, while combining defense and offense. He has trained me and my daughter for years. Highly recommended.

  • Joe is very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He teaches no-gi stand up techniques adapted to b-jiujitsu. What I like about his teaching is the ability to explain the techniques in a very simple manner. He allows time for a lot of drilling which helps with remembering the technique. I find myself feeling more confident when standing up during sparring thanks to Joe.

    Hasan Damdelen

  • Joe is the best wrestling coach I’ve had by far, I’m someone who has really struggled with stand up for my BJJ (aka a guard pulling addict…) and never in my wildest dreams thought I’d enjoy stand up or wrestling. Joe has changed that completely and made wrestling super accessible and most of all fun, I’m now hitting takedowns in my sparring and actually looking forward to developing my wrestling game which used to be unthinkable! Definitely book in with Joe to see your wrestling improve, you won’t regret it!

  • Joe has been my wrestling coach for 18 months now and I attribute my massive improvement and new confidence to his excellent coaching. Without Joe I would still feel very vulnerable in the standing position. I highly recommend Joe for anyone wanting to improve their wrestling skills and become confident in wrestling for Jiu-Jitsu.

  • Joe is a fantastic coach & wrestler and such a positive and sincere person to train under - always very welcoming and creates a great atmosphere. Training under Joe has been a big help and highlight - strongly recommend. Joe has a really good understanding of what to take from wrestling and apply to jiujitsu & grappling, which is becoming more and more important in modern BJJ. Don't be just a guard puller! 😂

  • I originally had a little bit of wrestling experience before joining Joe's class, since then Joe has introduced me to a whole new style of wrestling and his way of teaching the little details is priceless. Joe links wrestling and jiu jitsu together very nicely and shares it all with us leaving no questions unanswered. Highly recommend stopping by.

  • Following an injury I worked with Joe to recover and improve my mobility for grappling. Joe put me on a tailored program utilising his deep knowledge of PNF stretching, enhancing ROM and grappling specific optimised mobility drills. I learned a huge amount training with Joe and saw some very meaningful mobility improvements. Joe helped me a lot, he really knows his stuff, is fun to train with and operates from a superbly equipped gym. I can wholeheartedly recommend his services.

  • My introduction to wrestling and Joe's outstanding use of S&C completely transformed my training experience. I can’t thank and credit him enough for the incredible impact he’s had on improving my wrestling skills and confidence in grappling. I can't recommend anyone better for the role he played—dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate about helping you succeed. I continue to train both under him and alongside him because of the value he brings. He's a stand-up guy who's always there to support, guide, and listen, tailoring his approach to your individual needs. Whether you're looking to improve your wrestling for BJJ or elevate your fitness and S&C, I couldn’t recommend anyone better than Joe.

  • Learning from Joe has only been uphill. He’s able to quickly pinpoint your lacking areas and help work around them, allowing you to progress more easily. Especially for me, he was able to tailor my game and help me improve immensely, especially with my challenge in standup when there’s a height difference (i’m short). Love the chill energy which makes both group classes and private sessions enjoyable and less daunting! (Considering wrestling can be scary) I’ve had Joe as a coach for 2 years now and I recommend him to anyone looking for improvement in their standup/wrestling/overall jiujitsu game.

  • I’ve been learning wrestling fundamentals for a while with coach Joe, focusing specifically on wrestling for jiu-jitsu, and I can confidently say his classes are phenomenal. Joe has an incredible ability to break down techniques in a way that’s clear, precise, and easy to understand, even for spazzy MMA guys like me. What sets him apart is his patience and dedication to ensuring every student truly grasps the concepts before moving on. He takes the time to explain not just the “how” but the “why” behind every technique, which has been a game-changer for my understanding and application of wrestling in a jiu-jitsu and MMA context. Joe’s passion for teaching is evident and his attention to detail has helped me build a strong foundation while improving my confidence on the mats. Whether you’re new to wrestling or looking to refine your skills for jiu-jitsu, I can’t recommend Joe enough.

  • Joe is a very attentive and enthusiastic coach. I've been training with him in both wrestling and jiu jitsu for years and have recently taken up private coaching with him to accelerate progress with my game. It doesn't matter what skill level you are, he knows how to help you improve. He's also a great guy with a good sense of humour (I am stronger than him though). Highly recommend

    Samuel Ellis

  • Joe’s grappling classes are fantastic. He has a wealth of knowledge and consistently shown me details and techniques that have levelled up my game. Learning from him has given me much more confidence to use my stand up in competition. Can’t recommend him enough!

    Jaydon Sullivan

  • Started Joe’s wresting classes when I first joined the gym. Even though I had no clue what I was doing or what to do, Joe was able to make me feel welcome and helped me develop my own style which I continue to work on. I’ve now been in Joe’s classes for 2 years and couldn’t recommend it enough!

  • Before I started training with Joe, my standup game was nonexistent—I was that guy who pulled guard at every opportunity. But after just a few classes, everything changed. Joe’s coaching gave me the confidence, technique, and grit to stay on my feet and actually wrestle. Now, I’m shooting takedowns instead of flopping to my back, and my game has never been better. But the real victory? No more eye-rolls from my fiancee when I talk about jiu-jitsu, no more jokes about me being a "butt-scooter." Just pure admiration (or at least tolerance). If you want to level up your wrestling and maybe even gain some dignity along the way, Joe is the coach for you. Highly recommend!

    Djalil Gimatdinov

  • Incredibly patient and attentive coach. My wrestling developed a lot since my classes with Joe.

    Dominik Sanchez

  • I can't recommend Joe highly enough - really top quality coach and very personable guy. I started doing 1-to-1s having just received a blue belt in BJJ but with absolutely zero stand up skill... From an initial aim to just get better at surviving on the feet with maybe one or two go-to takedowns, my goalposts quickly moved as Joe took me through so much new knowledge from his wrestling experience. Joe's combination of wrestling skill with a BJJ black belt really comes through as all the stand up techniques link into the ground work seamlessly. Not only do I now feel comfortable standing up, it is actually the best part of my game and the part I find most enjoyable. If I was not leaving London to a new house, I would keep going for as long as I could with Joe. If you are on the fence then just go for it - I was a bit apprehensive at first about focusing more on stand up given a long list of shoulder stability injury problems, but on top of my skill improvements I now feel much safer in stand up situations as my awareness and skill have improved.
